Lefthanders Injured and out for the season...

Michael Conforto, while still an unsigned free agent, underwent shoulder surgery in mid-April and is most likely out for the rest of 2022.

​John Means of the Orioles pitched just two games before
having "Tommy John" surgery and is out for the rest of 2022.

Michael Brantley of the Houston Astros has not played since June 26th and is undergoing season ending shoulder surgery

​Sean Doolittle of the Nationals made just six appearances in 2022 before season ending shoulder surgery

Chris Sale of the Red Sox had just started his second game after rehab injuries, when a comeback liner broke his left pinkie.  Then he broke his right wrist in a bicycle accident during rebab and is out for rest of the season.

Matthew Boyd, formerly with the Tigers, had signed with the Giants for 2022 but had not yet pitched due to various injuries, but he was traded to the Mariners prior to the trade deadline.
