Madison Bumgarner has pitched 12 years in the majors, 11 with San Francisco and the past year with the Arizona Diamondbacks.  Bumgarner has 120 wins and 96 losses with a 3.20 Earned Run Average with 1824 strikeouts and only 441 walks in 1887 innings pitched.  He is a 4 time All-Star and a 3 time World Series Championships with the Giants.  He was the N.L. Championship MVP and World Series MVP in 2014.

​​Chris Sale has pitched 10 years in the majors, 7 years with the White Sox and 3 with the Red Sox, and he missed the 2020 season after elbow surgery.  He has 109 wins and only 73 losses for a .599 winning percentage with a 3.03 Earned Run Average, and has 2007 strikeouts and only 374 walks in 1629 innings.  Sale is a 7 time All-Star.  He currently ranks 2nd all-time in strikeouts per 9 Innings, and 1st all-time in strikeouts to walks ratio.

​Dallas Keuchel has pitched 9 years in the majors, 7 with the Houston Astros, 1 with the Atlanta Braves, and 1 with the Chicago White Sox.  He won the American League Cy Young Award in 2015, when he won 20 games with a 2.48 ERA.  Keuchel has 90 wins, 73 losses and a 3.59 ERA, with 1078 strikeouts in 1365 innings pitched.  He is also a very good fielder who has won the Gold Glove Award four times (including three in a row from 2014-2016)

Jon Lester has pitched 15 years in the majors, 9 with Boston, 1 with Oakland, and the last 6 with the Chicago Cubs.  Lester has 193 wins and only 111 losses, for a .638 winning percentage.  He has a 3.60 Earned Run Average and has pitched 2598 innings in 423 games started and has 2397 strikeouts to his credit.  Lester is a 5 time All Star, and he has 4 wins and 1 loss with a 1.77 ERA in 6 World Series games.

Cole Hamels has pitched 15 years in the majors), 10 years with Philadelphia, plus time with Texas and the Chicago Cubs.  He started 2020 with the Atlanta Braves but was injured most of the season.  Hamels has 163 wins and 123 losses, with a 3.43 Earned Run Average and 2560 strikeouts in 2698 innings pitched.  Hamels has been an All-Star in the N.L. 3 times, and the A.L. once, and he was World Series MVP with the Phillies in 2008.​​

David Price has pitched 12 years in the majors, 7 with Tampa Bay, 4 with Boston, and also with Detroit & Toronto.  He was traded to the LA Dodgers, but he chose to opt-out of the 2020 season.  Price has 150 wins and only 80 losses for a .652 winning percentage (24th all-time), with a 3.31 Earned Run Average, with 1981 strikeouts and only 527 walks in 2029 innings pitched.  He is a 5 time All-Star, and he won the AL Cy Young Award in 2012.

Other Veteran Lefthanded Starters

Clayton Kershaw is in a class by himself when it comes to the best lefthanded pitchers in the game today.  In his 13 years with the Dodgers, Kershaw has won 175 games and lost only 76 for a .697 winning percentage.  He has a 2.43 Earned Run Average, with 2526 strikeouts in 2333 innings pitched.  He is an eight time All-Star, 3 time Cy Young Award winner, and he was voted National League Most Valuable Player in 2014.  In 2020 he silenced his critics with two victories in the World Series over Tampa Bay.   Read more about Kershaw here
