George Brett was a righthanded throwing third-baseman who played 21 years (from 1973 to 1993), with the Kansas City Royals. He led the American League in batting three times, including 1980 with a .390 average, and also led the league in hits three times, triples three times, and slugging percentage three times.
He finished with a .305 career batting average, and 10,349 times at bat (21st all time), 3154 hits (16th all-time), 665 doubles (6th all-time), and 137 triples (70th all time). He won the American League Most Valuable Player Award in 1980, played in 13 all-star games, and was elected into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1999.
