Stan Musial  was a lefthanded throwing outfielder/ first-baseman who played 22 years in the majors (from 1941 to 1963) with the St Louis Cardinals.  He finished his career with 3026 games played (6th all-time), 10,972 at bats (10th all-time), 1949 runs scored (10th all-time), 725 doubles (3rd all-time), 177 triples, 475 home runs, 1951 runs batted in (7th all-time), 1599 walks (13th all-time).  He also had a .331 batting average (30th all-time), a .417 on base percentage (22nd all time) and .559 slugging percentage (17th all time).

Musial lead the league in games played 5 times and runs scored 5 times, scoring over 100 runs in 11 consecutive seasons.  He lead the league in hits 6 times and had 200 or more hits 6 times.  He lead the league in doubles 8 times and had 50 or more 3 times.  He lead the league in triples 5 times and had 20 triples twice.  He drove in over 100 runs 11 times, including a high of 131 runs batted in.

Musial won the National League batting title 7 times with a high of .365 in 1946, and finished in the top five in batting average 10 more times.  He won the Major League Player of the Year award twice, and National League MVP Award three times.  He was elected into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1969.
