Lefty Grove

​​Lefty Grove  pitched 17 years in the majors (from 1925 to 1941), his first 9 years with the Philadelphia Athletics and his last 8 with the Boston Red Sox.  He won 300 games (23rd all-time) with only 141 losses for a .680 winning percentage (9th all-time), and had a 3.06 earned run average.

Grove lead the American League in Earned Run Average 9 times, and in wins 4 times.  He won 20 games or more in 7 consecutive seasons (1927-1933), including 28 wins and 5 losses with a 2.54 ERA in 1930, and 31 wins and only 4 losses with a 2.06 ERA (including 27 complete games in 30 starts) in 1931 .  Overall he had 298 complete games in 457 career starts, and also had 54 saves on days he wasn't starting.  

Grove made the American League All-Star team 6 times.  He also had 4 wins and 2 losses with a 1.75 ERA in 8 World Series Games.  Grove was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1947.
